Artist Statement: As a handweaver, my goal is to convey a sense of simplicity and elegance in my work. Using natural fibers, each warp is an opportunity to explore the elements of color, design, structure, texture, and technique, from simple to complex.
I am a handweaver, creating wearables as well as functional items for the home, inspired by Norwegian and Scandinavian weaving. I continue to find woven shibori, dyed with indigo, very interesting and will continue to spend several weeks a year exploring weave structures and the technique.
I plan to begin blogging again in early September 2023, and hope you will find the blog posts interesting as well as the other pages on this website. I will update the gallery and other pages as new work is finished and photographed.
